Recipes for ‘cooking without bones’, vegetarian and vegan delicacies ranging from simple to sophisticated, by punks but not just for punks.
Published by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller, the creators of the punk rock fanzine Ox, the Ox Cookbook has become an insider tip since its publication in 1997 – and not just among punk rockers. The recipe for success: everyday cooking instructions that are clearly different from other cookbooks in terms of language and are written in a clear and understandable way.
For part 3, readers of the Ox fanzine, fans of the first two Ox cookbooks, scene people and punk mums have written down or even drawn their favourite recipes. Reviewed, selected and tested by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller and supplemented with their favourite creations, the result is another unusual cookbook that, like its predecessors, stands out for its writing style and suitability for everyday use.
Over 200 pages feature delicious meat-free recipes, each accompanied by a tip from the author on which music or band is best suited as a ‘cooking and eating soundtrack’. A special section provides background information on cooking itself, conscious shopping and organic farming, and the book is enlivened by numerous drawings by Rautie as well as recipes designed entirely as comics.

For Part 4 – the first Ox cookbook with colour pages! – readers of the Ox fanzine, fans and users of the first three Ox cookbooks, scene people and punk mums have written down or even drawn their favourite recipes.
Reviewed, selected and tested by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller and supplemented with their favourite creations, Part 4 of this unusual cookbook has been created, which, like its predecessors, is characterised by its writing style and suitability for everyday use. Here you'll find recipes that anyone can cook, that are suitable for both beginners and advanced cooks, and that whet your appetite just by reading them, even without elaborate food photography. Guest recipes come from Billy Gould (Faith No More), Barney (Napalm Death), Kurt (Converge), Steve Albini, Mille (Kreator), Reimer (Kettcar) and André & Tom (Maroon), among others.
The nearly 200 pages contain tried-and-tested recipes ‘without bones’, accompanied as usual by tips from the author on which music, which band, which record is best suited as a ‘cooking and eating soundtrack’. Rautie has once again contributed various illustrations, and of course, the cover image is by Ole Kaleschke, as with the first three books.
