Recipes for ‘cooking without bones’, vegetarian and vegan delicacies ranging from simple to sophisticated, by punks but not just for punks.
Published by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller, the creators of the punk rock fanzine Ox, the Ox Cookbook has become an insider tip since its publication in 1997 – and not just among punk rockers. The recipe for success: everyday cooking instructions that are clearly different from other cookbooks in terms of language and are written in a clear and understandable way.
For part 3, readers of the Ox fanzine, fans of the first two Ox cookbooks, scene people and punk mums have written down or even drawn their favourite recipes. Reviewed, selected and tested by Uschi Herzer and Joachim Hiller and supplemented with their favourite creations, the result is another unusual cookbook that, like its predecessors, stands out for its writing style and suitability for everyday use.
Over 200 pages feature delicious meat-free recipes, each accompanied by a tip from the author on which music or band is best suited as a ‘cooking and eating soundtrack’. A special section provides background information on cooking itself, conscious shopping and organic farming, and the book is enlivened by numerous drawings by Rautie as well as recipes designed entirely as comics.

The press
‘... the delicious vegetarian recipes from celebrities, scene moguls and, of course, ordinary mortals are, as always, a revelation for the kitchen AND the household, and unique in style!’ (Bierfront)
‘It's not just punk rockers who will find their mouths watering. The Ox Cookbook 3, like its two predecessors, is a real insider tip!’ (AVIVA)
"In addition to meat-free recipes and accompanying soundtrack recommendations, the book contains a wealth of illustrations in the punk-typical blackmail letter style. But it also includes valuable tips for “politically correct” shopping, information about organic farming and even instructions for “hardcore crocheting” pot holders with the logo of the cult band “Black Flag”. A thoroughly enjoyable read." (net4low.com, Susann Witt-Stahl)
